How long have you been delivering Catch Up® training?
Since 2012
What’s been your greatest success as a Catch Up® trainer?
Working with Catch Up® in my LA to pilot Catch Up® Literacy in secondary schools, and witnessing the difference it made to the pupils' attitudes about themselves and their potential to be successful readers – I was converted! Equally, importantly, seeing how much difference a well-trained and well-supported teaching assistant makes to struggling learners.
What do you like best about Catch Up® training?
I enjoy the build-up of enthusiasm when staff just want the training to end so they can get going with the intervention. I love it when staff say "This is brilliant!" whether it's Catch Up® Literacy or numeracy.
What would be your Catch Up® top tip/advice?
Stay with how you have been trained - it's proven to work.
Give one interesting fact about yourself that might surprise people.
I’m learning to play drums! No party pieces performed!
