9th March 2023 - A message from our CEO

It is with sadness that I am sharing with you that I am retiring as the Chief Executive Officer of Catch Up®. It has been an immense privilege to be given the opportunity to lead such a unique organisation, and to work alongside so dedicated a team. Every individual regularly demonstrates their personal commitment to making a difference for struggling learners in the decisions they make, and it has been a pleasure to work with them.

My time in the CEO chair has been a challenging one. As we all know the year of 2020 offered up its own special challenges, the results of which will be with us all for some time as we collaborate together to support learners.

I am proud of what we have achieved together; the way we responded as a team to the demands of change and the need to adapt, but I believe that adaptation is the key to an organisation moving ever forwards and viewing new horizons.

The move to the delivery of training online, with follow up support sessions also moving into the virtual world, enabled us to continue to provide training to schools in troubled times. The research into the effectiveness of the Catch Up® interventions in the Early Years, and the development of Catch Up® Literacy for Carers are all developments which leave a legacy and offer opportunities for Catch Up® to reach an ever wider group of learners.

I know that as I move into another phase Catch Up® is in a sound place and will be led by a strong leadership team: the Deputy Director, the Head of Training, the Office Manager, and the Finance Manager. A team who are all committed to making the difference for struggling learners.

I look forward to witnessing the continued journey of Catch Up® and to the impact it makes as it works alongside you.

With best wishes

Theresa
