Find out moreThank you to everyone who joined us in Abergele last Friday, for the third seminar in our series of launch events in Wales, where we shared news of our new support resources for Catch Up® Coordinators and deliverers.
Teachers, teaching assistants and advisers heard Catch Up® Director, Julie Lawes, and Eleri Jones, Catch Up® Accredited Trainer and External Adviser, explain what we have added to the Catch Up® Training and Support package, with new support available to help Catch Up® Coordinators set up the interventions in school, embed the interventions and to help both deliverers and coordinators enhance their Catch Up® practice.
Julie showed a sample Welsh medium clip from our new online management videos, which take the person responsible for managing the intervention through introducing the intervention and supporting and monitoring delivery.
Julie and Eleri then explained the new training opportunities that are going to be available every term at our Regional Training Centres, including our Review and Refresh sessions, Coordinator Networking meetings and in-depth workshops.
Attendees were then shown a preview of our Progress Reporting Tool (due to launch early next term), which will enable schools to easily record assessment data and produce pupil and group reports at the click of a button, to help show the progress that is being made using Catch Up®.
Delegates scored the event an average of 4.7 (where 5 is ‘most helpful’), and – in response to the question ‘What did you find useful?’ – we were delighted that 73% of attendees specifically said, "new resources available”! Delegates felt that the new tools and training will be of enormous benefit to their schools, and also found it useful to know ‘there is still help available’.
There were only a few suggestions for improvement, including Catch Up® running ‘more local training’.
