11th December 2025 - Season's greetings

Dear All,

As we reach the end of 2025 and take time to reflect upon the year, we recognise that it has been a very busy one for many of us, with very familiar challenges, but also wonderful, positive outcomes for the struggling learners we all support.

We have been delighted to welcome many new trainees to deliver the Catch Up® interventions and been pleased to have past trainees return to delivery as well. As schools continue to work tirelessly on closing the attainment gap, in a challenging time, we know that the Catch Up® interventions can support progress, and with your help the word is spreading.

Training is consistently rated as good or better, with the majority of trainees rating it as very good or excellent.

  • Thank you very much for an amazing training course. Literacy trainee

  • Very thorough and informative course. The tools and resources are amazing and the support throughout has been fantastic. Love that this user portal means I'm also part of the greater Catch Up® community too, which is so reassuring. Numeracy trainee

  • I found the training very thorough; it was great to have a mixture of polls/videos and questions. Having the pack sent to the school before hand was useful to be able to make notes directly on the copies. I can't wait to get started with it. Thanks again. Literacy trainee

  • Very inspiring, can’t wait to get started! Numeracy trainee

The Catch Up® Accredited Trainers and the admin staff work incredibly hard to ensure that your training experience is as good as it can be, and all are heartened by the feedback we regularly receive.

THANK YOU!

During this year we have welcomed submissions for our Certificate of Recognition from individual deliverers and for our Excellence Awards from schools who have been effectively using the interventions over time.
It has been a pleasure to read these submissions and learn about the amazing impact the interventions have made for struggling learners. We were especially pleased to award our first Platinum Excellence Award to Trelewis Primary School! Please read here about their story.

As we move into 2026, our work delivering our bespoke ‘Catch Up® Literacy Supporting Reading’ training to foster and kinship carers will continue, and we would like to once again thank the Norfolk Virtual School and others for working so closely with us to enable us to support more carers/staff and the children/young people. We look forward to working with other virtual schools in 2026 who have got in touch with us this year and hope to link with other settings as the year progresses and support even more young people.
We have also been privileged to collaborate with two of the Uni Connect Partnerships to train staff and students to deliver both Catch Up® interventions in their local schools as part of their Outreach and Widening Participation work. This also continued during 2025 with the Outreach and Widening Participation department at the University of Kent using Catch Up® Numeracy. We hope to collaborate with other Uni Connect Partnerships during 2026 in order to reach more struggling learners.

During 2025 we once again offered our ever-popular termly ‘drop in’ Q+A meetings and the Review and Refresh training sessions. We are pleased that these will continue in 2026 and look forward to seeing some of you at these sessions!

We hope that 2026 continues to be a positive one for Catch Up® and that we are able, with your support, to make the difference to as many struggling learners as possible.

We wish you a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable break.

With warmest wishes

The Catch Up Team
